COVID-19 FIELD/GYM PROTOCOL DETAILS

With the onset of Covid-19 please read carefully the protocol that will be in place. Some might find these measures disappointing however these are the restrictions that have been mandated by the City of Toronto, the Provincial Government and Facility themselves. The authorities might add or lift some restrictions, however we at Royal York Football Club cannot emphasize enough the importance of safety even if some restrictions have been lifted provincially.
ENTER:
    • All players MUST be dropped off at the facility entrance
    • All players MUST wear mask when entering facilities
    • Players will be allowed to take off masks only during the training session. If a player prefers to keep the mask on all the time, that is fine.
    • RYFC will sanitize the hands of each player at the facility entrance
    • Attendance will open 10 minutes before each session starts. Do not enter the facility prior to attendance opening
    • Attendance will be recorded for each player to ensure that we have an accurate record of everyone on the field (this has been mandated by the City of Toronto and the Provincial Government)
    • Players have to come on time or they will not be able to enter the facility
    • Any player arriving after the attendance is closed will NOT be allowed to participate in the session.
    • RYFC will not refund, organize a make up session for any sessions lost due to players arriving late
    • RYFC will not refund for any session lost due to illness or isolation
    • RYFC will refund only for sessions lost due to a club shutdown imposed by the government
EXIT:
    • Players must only be picked up at the facility entrance after the session
    • RYFC will sanitize the hands of each player prior to exiting the field
    • To minimize the crowding and enforce social distance do not linger around the facility after the session has ended
PARENTS / GUARDIANS
  • Based on safety measures mandated by the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario and facility themselves, parents/guardians will not be allowed in the facility. Only players and coaches will be allowed inside the facility, this is an area that RYFC will enforce as the new norm for all our sessions (outdoor and indoors)
  • Parents, if player appears sick, has fever, runny nose, continuous sneezing, continuous coughing RYFC will remove the player from the training session
  • Parents, if the player has travel abroad or been in contact with someone who travelled abroad it is your civil responsibility to isolate the player and not bring the player to the training
EQUIPMENT
  • The equipment i.e soccer balls and nets will be disinfected before, during and after each session
  • Only coaches are allowed to touch soccer equipment (players must not touch soccer balls and nets with hands)
SOCIAL DISTANCE
  • Social distancing will be in effect
  • Each RYFC technical program being offered this indoor season will be small in numbers as mandated by the City of Toronto and the Provincial Government)
TRAINING SESSION
  • The City of Toronto, The Provincial Government and Canada Soccer have mandated that at no time during Stage 2 can Clubs incorporate “full on” games or scrimmages in practice sessions
  • The NO games, no scrimmage might get lifted in Stage 3 however RYFC will address this at that time
  • There will be NO make up session for individual players organized at this time

COVID-19 WAIVER – parents/guardians have read and by registering for RYFC training programs agree to be bound by this agreement

  1. This is a binding legal Clarify any questions or concerns before signing. As a Participant in activities, programs, classes, services provided and events sponsored or organized by Ontario Soccer and its affiliated districts, leagues, clubs and teams (collectively “Royal York Football Club”) and the sport of soccer, including but not limited to: games, tournaments, practices, training, personal training, dry land training, use of strength training and fitness conditioning equipment, machines and facilities, nutritional and dietary programs, orientational or instructional sessions or lessons, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning programs (collectively the “Activities”), the undersigned being the Participant and Participant’s Parent/Guardian (collectively the “Parties”) acknowledges and agrees to the following terms outlined in this agreement:
  1. I am the Parent/Guardian of the Participant and have full legal responsibility for the decisions of the Participant.

Description of Risks

  1. The Parties understand and acknowledge that:
    1. The Activities have foreseeable and unforeseeable inherent risks, hazards and dangers that no amount of care, caution or expertise can eliminate, including without limitation, the potential for serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis and loss of life;
    2. Royal York Football may offer or promote online programming (such as webinars, remote conferences, workshops, and online training) which have different foreseeable and unforeseeable risks than in-person programming;
    3. Royal York Football Club has a difficult task to ensure safety and it is not Royal York Football Club may be unaware of the Participant’s fitness or abilities, may give incomplete warnings or instructions, may misjudge weather or environmental conditions, and the equipment being used might malfunction; and
    4. The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization and COVID-19 is extremely contagious. Royal York Football Club has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, Royal York Football Club cannot guarantee that the Participant will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending the Activities could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.
  1. The Participant is participating voluntarily in the In consideration of that participation, the Parties hereby acknowledge that they are aware of the risks, dangers and hazards and may be exposed to such risks, dangers and hazards. The risks, dangers and hazards include, but are not limited to:
    1. Contracting COVID-19 or any other contagious disease;
    2. Executing strenuous and demanding physical techniques;
    3. Vigorous physical exertion, strenuous cardiovascular workouts and rapid movements;
    4. Exerting and stretching various muscle groups;
    5. The failure to properly use any piece of equipment or from the mechanical failure of any piece of equipment;
    6. Spinal cord injuries which may render the Participant permanently paralyzed;
    7. Serious injury to virtually all bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons and other aspects of the Participant’s body or to the Participant’s general health and well-being;
    8. Abrasions, sprains, strains, fractures, or dislocations;
    9. Privacy breaches, hacking, technology malfunction or damage;
    10. Concussion or other head injuries, including but not limited to, closed head injury or blunt head trauma;
    11. Physical contact with other participants, spectators, equipment, and hazards;
    12. Not wearing appropriate safety or protective equipment, such as a helmet;
    13. Failure to act safely or within the Participant’s ability or within designated areas;
    14. Grass, turf, and other surfaces including bacterial infections and rashes;
    15. Collisions with fences, poles, stands, and soccer equipment;
    16. Negligence of other persons, including other spectators, participants, or employees;
    17. Weather conditions; and
    18. Travel to and from competitive events and associated non-competitive events which are an integral part of the

Terms

  1. In consideration of Royal York Football Club allowing the Participant to participate in the Activities, the Parties agree:
    1. That the Participant’s mental and physical condition is appropriate to participate in the Activities;
    2. That when the Participant practices or trains in his or her own space, the Parties are responsible for the Participant’s surroundings and the location and equipment that is selected for the Participant;
    3. To comply with the rules and regulations for participation in the Activities;
    4. To comply with the rules of the facility or equipment;
    5. That if the Participant observes an unusual significant hazard or risk, the Participant will remove themselves from participation and bring such to the attention of a Royal York Football Club representative immediately;
    6. The risks associated with the Activities are increased when the Participant is impaired and the Participant agrees not to participate if impaired in any way;
    7. That it is their sole responsibility to assess whether any Activities are too difficult for the Participant. By the Participant commencing an Activity, they acknowledge and accept the suitability and conditions of the Activity;
    8. That they are responsible for the choice of the Participant’s protective equipment and the secure fitting of the protective equipment;
    9. That COVID-19 is contagious in nature and the Participant may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and such exposure may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability or death and voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing
  1. In consideration of Royal York Football Club allowing the Participant to participate, the Parties agree:
    1. That the Parties are not relying on any oral or written statements made by Royal York Football Club or their agents, whether in brochure or advertisement or in individual conversations, to agree to be involved in the Activities; and
    2. That Royal York Football Club is not responsible or liable for any damage to the Participant’s vehicle, property, or equipment that may occur as a result of the

General

  1. The Parties agree that in the event that they file a lawsuit against Royal York Football Club, they agree to do so solely in the province of Ontario, Canada and they further agree that the substantive law of Ontario will apply without regard to conflict of law
  1. The Parties expressly agree that this Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law and that if any of its provisions are held to be invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and

Acknowledgement

  1. The Parties acknowledge that they have read this agreement and understand it, that they have executed this agreement voluntarily, and that this Agreement is to be binding upon themselves, their heirs, their spouses, parents, guardians, next of kin, executors, administrators and legal or personal representatives.
