Financial Assistance via the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program
Canadian Tire Jumpstart is an organization developed to make sure that every child athlete can play the sport that they desire without any financial restrictions. Their goal is to get children into the games.
Physical activity is essential to life, it keeps kids healthy, gives them self-assurance and control, and helps improve their innovation. Jumpstart Canadian Tire wants to make sure that every child has the opportunity to participate in the sport that they are passionate about.
Applications for Financial Assistance can usually be submitted between January 15 and November 1st.
The criteria required to be accepted into Jumpstart Canadian Tire Financial Assistance are:
Is your child between the ages of 4-18?
Does your desired funding go towards a sport or physical activity?
Is your family in a demographic which would be considered in financial need?
If you meet all three criteria, you can apply for Jumpstart Canadian Tire.
Financial Assistance via the KidSport Ontario Program
KidSport Ontario is a grass roots Canadian non-profit organization that provides support to under-resourced children and youth 18 years of age and under by removing financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.
KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. KidSport provides financial assistance to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.
Applications for Financial Assistance can usually be submitted between December 1, February 15 and July 1.
Financial Assistance via the Their Opportunity Program
Their Opportunity provides low-income families with the funding to enroll their children in local sports & recreation programs. They believe that every child deserves an opportunity to play sports. By removing the financial barrier of enrollment fees, children can develop the confidence, social skills and healthy lifestyle attainable through sport. What makes us different: Children that have received funding are required to “pay it forward” through a give-back program.
How to apply for funding:
1. Their Opportunity funds children into sports and recreation programs whose total family income is $45,000 and less.
2. Applications require a current Notice of Assessment for each parent and/or guardian.
3. Pick your sport and the league you want to play in.
4. Pick your give back location where you would like to get involved in your community.
