RYFC Football School – Your Path to Rep Soccer
The Football School program is the center of excellence within the club for delivering players into the club’s Football Academy & Rep stream. The program goal is to teach, develop and prepare players to excel on the pitch through a series of technical football training blocks.
FOOTBALL SCHOOL LEVEL I
Players with little or no soccer experience are advised to enter the Football School at level I. The program goals, curriculum and structured technical teaching delivery still applies in level I. Grouping players with the similar skill level will ensure that they develop together from a mental, physical, and technical aspect.
FOOTBALL SCHOOL LEVEL II
Players who have experience playing soccer are recommended to enter Football School level II. Yes, if you play soccer in the street, attended RYFC technical training sessions, practice passing, and dribbling with mum and dad in the backyard or currently playing soccer each day in the school yard; we recommend you try Football School level II.
The RYFC Football School level I & level II is a fluid program, there will be opportunities for players to move between the two levels based at any time based on the progress of their skill development. Player movement between the levels will be coordinated by RYFC Football School technical coaches.
The RYFC Football School is focused on teaching the following in various game situations:
- advancing mechanical movements, player balance and technical ball skill work
- shielding, defending, understanding shape
- introduction to attacking and defending as a team
- positioning with and without the ball
- building confidence to win the ball and create scoring opportunity
Players progress to a more advanced technical level than what they were exposed to in our Mini Masters technical soccer program. The RYFC Football School brings more focus on mechanical movements, player balance and technical ball skill work, positioning, movement off the ball.
