We are expanding our coaching team, the following roles are available:

LEAD REP TECHNICAL COACHES:

  • Position: Rep Coach U8-U12
  • Program: Rep program
  • Reports to: Technical Director and Club Head Coach
  • Level: Lead Technical Coach (part-time)
  • Royal York Football Club are currently seeking dynamic part-time rep coaches that will guide Royal York FC rep players & teams in their development. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to coach within the club’s curriculum and understand player development.

Royal York FC rep teams train three times per week and play a weekly game.

Rep Coach Role Summary:

Rep Coaches are responsible for leading all aspects of team operations including:

  • Planning & delivering training sessions based on the Club’s annual curriculum
  • Coaching games
  • Facilitating tryouts
  • Create an optimal environment for high-level individual and team development & performance
  • Provide written player assessment and conduct player evaluation interviews
  • Regular communication with the Technical Director, Club Head Coach and Operations & Logistics Manager

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth players between the ages of 7-11
  • Learn to Train and Fundamentals
  • Completed C License or in C License training
  • Respect in Sport (RIS), Making Ethical Decisions (MED), Making Headway
  • Understanding of the Ontario Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development Program
  • Must clear a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in Ontario.

FOOTBALL SCHOOL TECHNICAL COACHES

  • Position: Technical Coach Ages 5-10
  • Program: Football School (prep for Rep program)
  • Reports to: Technical Director and Club Head Coach
  • Level: Lead Technical Coach (part-time)

Royal York Football Club is currently seeking dynamic part-time technical coaches that will run our Football School program. RYFC Football School is preparation for our rep soccer program. Coaches in our Football School program will guide Royal York FC players in their development to join our rep program.

The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to coach within the club’s curriculum and understand player development.

Royal York FC Football School trains two times per week. Successful candidate will coach two age groups.

Football School Coach Role Summary:

Football School Coaches are responsible for leading all aspects of Football School operations including:

  • Planning & delivering training sessions based on the Club’s annual curriculum
  • Coaching internal exhibition games
  • Retaining players in the Football School program or channeling them in our rep program
  • Assisting rep coaches during rep tryouts
  • Create an optimal environment for individual player development & performance
  • Provide written player assessment and conduct player evaluation
  • Regular communication with the Technical Director, Club Head Coach and Operations & Logistics Manager

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth players between the ages of 7-11

HOUSE LEAGUE COACHES:

House League Coach position is for all soccer enthusiast who want to be involved in youth soccer, foster a supportive game environment where young players can explore the game and fall in love with the beautiful game. The primary responsibility for house league coaches is the following:

  • positively guide and encourage players during the game
  • build positive environment where players are encouraged to learn, make mistakes, celebrate wins, accept and learn from loses
  • foster team spirit and effort
  • ensure all players are engaged and receive equal playing time
  • recommend next steps for players looking for advanced programs.
  • Evening and weekend work is expected

Being a house league coach is a very important role within the Club. House League coaches are often the first coach a young player will have and the coach that will inspire a player to choose football as their sport. This is a paid position.

TINY TOTS AGES 3-4 COACHES:

Royal York Football Club pyramid of play starts with our Tiny Tots soccer program for ages 3-4. The primary responsibility of Tiny Tots coaches is to foster fun and engaging training environment, teach fundamental soccer skills i.e. running with the ball, dribbling, change of direction, turning, shielding, agility, physical literacy to our youngest players. This position is meant for individuals with high energy and dynamic personality that are passionate about working with toddlers and instilling love for the beautiful game.

Tiny Tots Coaches are responsible for the following:

  • Planning and executing Tiny Tots lesson plan in accordance with the Club’s Tiny Tots curriculum
  • Engage players in various soccer based activities
  • Positively correct and encourage players
  • Prepare players technically and mentally to transition to Mini Masters or Football School as they approach age of 5
  • Recommend players to Mini Masters or Football School as they approach age of 5

Qualifications:

  • Dynamic and high energy personality
  • Experience working with toddlers ages 3-4
  • Understanding of the Long Term Player Development
  • Background in ECE is an asset
  • Childcare or kindergarten experience is an asset
  • Following courses completed or in process of completing:
    • OSA Active Start
    • OSA Fundamentals
    • Respect in Soccer (RIS)
    • Making Ethical Decisions (MED)
    • Making Headway
